Law & Order Season 23 Images See Reid Scott as NBC Drama’s New Detective

Following the announcement of Veep alum Reid Scott joining Law & Order Season 23 as the newest series regular, TVLine has shared a first-look at the actor’s role as the new NYPD detective.

The actor will reportedly portray Detective Vincent Riley, a character Camryn Manheim’s Lieutenant Kate Dixon recruited. Scott will be succeeding Jeffrey Donovan’s Detective Frank Cosgrove, who left the show due to “creative differences.” Donovan appeared in Seasons 21 and 22 of the NBC police procedural drama.

Before Donovan joined the series as Detective Frank, Anthony Anderson reprised his role as Detective Kevin Bernard, leaving after Season 21. Mehcad Brooks succeeded him as Jalen Shaw in Season 22.

Who else will star in Law & Order Season 23?

Scott will be working with Mehcad Brooks’ Jalen Shaw, a character that was first introduced during the show’s 22nd season. The rest of the cast also includes Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy, Hugh Dancy as Nathan Price, and Oldelya Halevi as ADA Samantha Maroun.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Law & Order are available to purchase on Prime Video, with Seasons 13 to 20 streaming on Peacock. On the other hand, the latest seasons — Seasons 21 and 22 — are available to purchase on Apple TV or Prime Video.

Law & Order Season 23 premieres on January 18, 2024, at 8/7c on NBC.
