Wednesday Blu-ray and DVD Release Date Set for Jenna Ortega Netflix Series

Netflix’s Wednesday is getting a proper Blu-ray and DVD release.

Per Bloody Disgusting, Wednesday Season 1 will be available for fans to purchase both online and at major retail stores on Blu-ray and DVD on March 26, 2024.

What is Wednesday Season 1 about?

“The series charts the titular heroine’s years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability,” reads the synopsis, “While also thwarting a monstrous killing spree terrorizing the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.”

Created by Alred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday Season 1 stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character. The cast also includes Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpih, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Jamie McShane as Donovan Galpin, Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugley Addams, Goerge Burcea as Lurch, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

The first season of Wednesday has been nominated for three Primetime Emmy awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Ortega), and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Tim Burton). Winners will be announced on January 15, 2024.

In January 2023, Netflix officially renewed Wednesday for a second season, which is expected to begin production in April 2024.  Deadline also reported in December 2023 that Netflix was in “early development” on a spin-off series focused on Armisen’s Uncle Fester. Further details remain under wraps at this time.

Wednesday Season 1 releases onto Blu-ray and DVD on March 26, 2024. The series is also streaming on Netflix.
