CBS 48 Hours: Who Went to Jail in Connection With Megan Parra’s Death?

Louisiana mother Megan Parra was 29 years old at the time of her tragic death. Her parents, Steve and Missy Ducote, discovered her corpse on June 28, 2014, inside the living room of their house in Cottonport, Louisiana, and believed that her cause of death was suicide. However, seven years after the incident, authorities indicted Megan’s husband, Dustin Parra, after which he was charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

CBS News reported that Megan Parra died from a gunshot to the head. Officials charged Dustin Parra for his wife’s death for the first time in October 2021. Two years later, on March 24, 2023, a few days before his trial, his authority proposed a deal. Following this, Steve and Missy Ducote discussed with the district attorney and went ahead with the proposal.

According to the news outlet, Dustin confessed that he had a gun with him during a struggle with his wife. It went off, and the bullet struck Megan, which ultimately led to her death.
