Update on WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair’s Injury

WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair suffered a severe injury during a SmackDown match, facing off against Asuka last month.

In a heated bout that ended unexpectedly with Charlotte Flair’s defeat, courtesy of interference from Bayley. However, the real shock came when Flair tumbled from the top rope, her leg twisting at an unnatural angle during the match.

It was later reported by PWInsider, that Charlotte Flair has suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus, stemming from the unfortunate fall during the bout with Asuka. This injury requires her immediate attention and surgery.

During a segment on Wrestling Observer Radio, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer provided an update on Charlotte Flair’s injury, revealing that she is scheduled to undergo surgery this week. The expected timeframe for her absence from the ring is estimated at 9–12 months.

“She’s not going to be around for like nine months. Yeah, she’s having surgery. I think this week she’s having the surgery,” Meltzer stated.

This unexpected setback comes as Flair recently re-signed a new deal with WWE, making her the highest-paid women’s wrestler in the promotion. Alongside Flair, numerous other wrestlers, including Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and Bayley, have also renewed their contracts with WWE.

When can fans expect Charlotte Flair’s return to WWE?

Following a significant injury—a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus incurred in a recent clash with Asuka on SmackDown—the Queen is set to miss WrestleMania 40. The burning question persists: When can fans expect her comeback?

With imminent surgery this week, sidelining her for 9–12 months, possibilities arise for a return to the Survivor Series or a direct comeback at the Royal Rumble next year.

Flair could also potentially win the Rumble and then go on to challenge the champion at WrestleMania 41, making a triumphant return and perhaps headlining the grandest stage of them all. It will be interesting to see when the 14-time Women’s Champion will make her return to WWE.
